YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW SAD I AM THAT LEAFS LOST

nobatteries:

Completely heartbroken.

At the same time, proud as fucking ever.

talulabelle:

Grabo deserves all the awards. He took a beating out there, and he just kept getting back up again. I have never been more proud of a player.

Free hugs

I genuinely feel badly for the Leafs and their fans.
You guys pushed and played when no one thought you could even make it to Game 7 and showed everyone how you can’t count Toronto out in just 4 games. Despite the loss, be proud of yourselves!
Don’t lose faith because making it into the playoffs at all shows that you’re a team to be contended with. You put up a hell of a fight.
Hugs for all the Leafs out there :)
With love and support from a Penguins fan

leaflines:

I am proud. I am proud with a heavy heart because for 20 minutes I believed we were gonna get to round 2, but I am proud.

This was the youngest team in the playoffs. 13 of our 25 player roster played their first playoff games ever. Kessel broke his goal-less streak against the Bruins. Reimer proved himself to be the excellent goalie that Toronto has been waiting for. Our younger players played hard, played tough, and played well beyond their age.

I really believe that playing the Bruins in their first round was a blessing in disguise because though they didn’t advance, they learned. They learned what it’s like to battle in the playoffs, and they learned how to take down a bear. The Bruins are a tough team on two fronts - their physicality and their skill. Honestly can’t think of a better team for the Leafs to learn from.

I am so so proud. It was a heartbreaking ending, but they deserved to make it this far and yes, they also deserved to lose.

An incredible series from two great teams. Proud of both teams for playing with class and playing with heart. Thanks to the Bruins for teaching the Leafs about playaff hackey, and thanks to the Leafs for an excellent season.
